Practical Particles will premiere at Vitrina Gallery of the Holon Institute of Technology, from December 30. The four works – described by the designer as a ‘showcase of typographic responses to current issues in culture and mass communication’ – are comprised of animated gifs, that make use of unsettling images and fragments from found online political, brutal, pornographic and other videos to create a new kind of typographic visual language.

All four works We Are Family, (Breaking) The Crystal Goblet, .˙. |: (Aka Dot.Font) and ‘Art vs. Designare based on square shapes and in the format of animated-gif installations.

Practical Particles responds to what Ezer calls ‘the pornographic era’ and the inevitable realities of current mainstream communication, which include the spread of hard pornography, politicization of the self and brutality.
