Scribble pegasus cover art for Poetry Magazine‘s September 2012 issue.
Founded in Chicago by Harriet Monroe in 1912, Poetry is the oldest monthly devoted to verse in the English-speaking world. The magazine established its reputation by publishing the first important poems of T. S. Eliot, Ezra Pound, Marianne Moore, Wallace Stevens, H.D., William Carlos Williams, Carl Sandburg, and other now-classic authors.
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Poetry’s designers, Winterhouse Studio, invited 11 artists and designers, including Oded Ezer, to reinterpret its iconic Pegasus logo, originally created by Eric Gill in 1932.
Ezer’s Scribble Pegasus appears on the cover of the magazine’s September 2012 edition.
